Want to expand your music collection – for FREE? Here’s how:

Welland Public Library now offers free downloadable music through Freegal Music (https://welland NULL.freegalmusic NULL.com/users/sdlogin), an online music database that provides access to songs from Sony Music 24/7.

Freegal Music contains hundreds of thousands of songs, over 100 genres, and new music is added daily. The music files are in MP3 format that is compatible with most desktop and mobile devices. They do NOT expire, so you can keep all tracks you download. No special software is needed to use this service. All you need is a valid WPL card and PIN.

How do I log into Freegal?

Click on the Freegal (https://welland NULL.freegalmusic NULL.com/users/sdlogin) logo from our website, or here (https://welland NULL.freegalmusic NULL.com). To log in, enter your 14-digit library card number and PIN.

If you have problems logging in, it may be because you have entered the wrong PIN, your library card has expired or your account is blocked.  Come into the library, and our circulation staff will be happy to help you.

Once you have logged in, you will see a usage counter in the upper right corner. It displays your weekly allotment, and the counter is reset to zero every Monday.

How does Freegal work?

You may download up to five songs per week on each valid library card. If you have reached your weekly limit, you can add songs to your wish list.

You can search or browse Freegal Music (https://welland NULL.freegalmusic NULL.com/users/sdlogin) by artist’s name, song title or genre. When you have selected an artist and song you want, click on the “Download Now” link next to your chosen song. At the prompt, select Save and choose where you want to save the song.

Please note that any time you click on the “Download Now” link, even if you decide to cancel it, the download will still count towards your weekly allotment.
